Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2
Two of Shakespeare’s most popular works, Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 contain some of the playwright’s most enduring and endearing characters.
Directed by STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn, Stacy Keach (King Lear, Macbeth) as Falstaff and STC favorite Edward Gero (King Lear, Richard II) as the title role, team up once again to star in this epic story, told in two parts and staged in revolving repertory.
Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 show us great kings and mighty warriors, but they also vividly portray the common man and woman. Functioning as a family drama of unusual intimacy as well as a grand portrait of regional and political differences throughout a country, the plays provide the mesmerizing illusion of a fully realized world.
